The reminder didn't fire when I left.
Leaving? relies on Apple's location system, which only accepts that you've
left once you're roughly 200 m past the edge of your circle — so expect
the reminder a couple of streets away, not at your front door. Make sure the
app has Location: Always and Notifications enabled in iOS
Settings, and that the place is switched on.
What is the Wi-Fi option?
On a place's detail screen you can save its Wi-Fi. Losing that network then
also counts as leaving, which is usually faster than GPS and works indoors.
If the circle triggers while you're still on that Wi-Fi, the app treats it as
GPS drift and stays quiet instead of nagging you.
Why does it need location "Always"?
So iOS can wake the app and remind you the moment you cross the edge of a
place — even when the app is closed. It never records where you go; it only
reacts to the boundaries of the circles you drew. See the privacy section
below.
Will it drain my battery?
No. It doesn't track you continuously — it just watches the edges of your
places, which costs almost nothing.

Leaving? is built to be private. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. Everything you put into the app stays on your device.
Nothing. We don't collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. We don't operate any servers that receive your data, and there is no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking of any kind.
All of this is stored locally on your iPhone and is never uploaded anywhere.
Leaving? uses your location solely to notice when you leave a place you've set up, so it can remind you. It does this with Apple's geofencing, which watches only the edges of the circles you drew. Your location is not recorded, stored as a history of where you've been, sent off the device, or used for advertising or tracking. The "Always" permission is required only so iOS can deliver that boundary‑crossing notification while the app is in the background.
If you choose to save a place's Wi-Fi, the app reads the current network's name/identifier on your device to tell a real departure from a GPS wobble. This is used on‑device only and is never transmitted.
Reminders are local notifications generated on your device. They are not sent through any server.
You're always in control. You can clear your departure history or remove any place from within the app. Deleting the app removes everything it stored, permanently.
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
